Ranaghat- a city in the Nadia district, well known for its handloom industries, various types of flowers and sweet dishes and is mythically said to have earned its name from the bandit “Rana dacoit”. Though this town has various renowned schools, the Ranaghat College, yet it lacked a Teacher’s Training Institution. So, to serve the needs of the people, theSt. Mary’s College Bachelor of Education and Higher Studies , was established by the Ranaghat Mandakini Educational Society in 2012 . The college is established with a view for the purpose of advancement of teaching, research and dissemination of knowledge in Teacher Education Programme and also to develop professional skills and competence of persons intending to take up teaching as their career.

St. Mary’s College Bachelor of Education and Higher Studiesis open to persons of all religion of either gender irrespectively of their caste, creed, race, and ethnicity. St. Mary’s College (B.Ed & Higher Studies) is located ideally from a pollution free area by the side of NH-34 near Ranaghat with a beautiful campus of 1 Acre of land and with all modern and sophisticated infrastructure facilities. It is also easily accessible from Ranaghat Rail Station (1.5 km.)
